I graduated with a joint BFA in Painting from the University of the Arts and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and developed a style inspired by stained glass windows (Oil Paintings). Wanting the freedom to work outside of my home, I began using an iPad and Apple pencil to create images with the Procreate application. While I explored the options available with digital drawings, I began to embrace the challenge of finding a technique that created a look that was consistent with my paintings.

Appreciating the subtle elegance of monochromatic images, I developed a style that used the following guidelines: a palette of black, white and no more than 10 tones of grey or of one hue. I use a stylus of various sizes at full opacity to create clean, visually-stimulating lines. I’ve enjoyed translating this style into Pencil Drawings.

When I’m not drawing, I work as a barber. This career allows me to use my eye for balance and composition while having great conversations with some of the incredible people living in and passing through New York City. You can see some of my work on my Barber Services page.
